Pampulov Samuil Moiseyevich , 1843-1911

Mayor of Eupatoria in 1864-1879. Ulu haham of Crimean Karaites. Received Nicolas II and his family while their visit to Crimea. Diplomat. Upheld rights of Karaites before Russian government. Together with I. I. Kazas he founded an ecclesiastical school with the purpose of enlightening Karaites.

Garden flora in Bachchi-Karai in September : Sedum, Artemisia, Hollyhock. All these flowers are dedicated to the memory of S.Pampulov, who, as Haham protected Karaimism, helped to establish Karaite high schools and libraries.
