Kefeli Sima Iosif, 1821-1904

Kefeli Sima Iosif, called "Karaite Pericles", mayor of Sebastopol, member of the city parliament (1854-1897). He was a participant of the military guard while protecting of Sebastopol in the period of the Crimean war and got the Gold Medal from the hands of Russian Czar Alexander the Second. Sima Kefeli graduated Karaite School called "midrash" and was an outstanding member of Karaite Community, which had been developing very intensive under his administration.
