Firkovich Abraham , 1786-1874
Head of the National Karaite movement, collected old karaite scrolls and manuscripts. Brought to Russia 15000 manuscripts after his expeditions to Jerusalem, Hebron, Cairo, and Istanbul. Wrote Avnei Zikaron about Balta Tyimez monuments. Author of the Khazar conception of Karaites origin.
